No, this category does not lead to indefinite leave to remain (ILR) or settlement. Once you’ve registered your marriage or civil partnership in the UK, you may apply to extend your stay as a Spouse/Civil Partner which can lead to settlement. To be eligible for ILR, you must have lived continuously in the UK for at least five years before applying. It’s important to note that your six months as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner does not count towards the minimum period for ILR.

The application cost for a Fiancé(e) or Proposed Civil Partner is £1,538. You can only apply for this visa from outside the UK.
